티옥틱애씨드는 매우 강력한 항산화제이며 피부 재생과 회복을 도와준다. 국소 적용 시 피부 결과 피부 톤을 개선해 준다.

1. 항산화제: 자유산소 제거. 세포간막 사이를 자유롭게 오고 가 항산화가 비교적 자유롭게 일어나는 편이다.

2. 항염제: NFk-B 억제, 사이토카인 생성 억제 (Thioctic Acid is also thought to serve as an anti-inflammatory by preventing the activation of NFk-B and cytokines from forming.)

3. 항노화제: 활성산소 제거가 유의미한 수준으로 일어나 항노화함. 실제실험 한 경우 피붓결 개선, 주름 감소를 확인함. (According to a study published in the British Journal of Dermatology, 33 middle-aged women were treated twice daily, using a 5% Alpha Lipoic Acid (Thiotic Acid) on half of their face, and a control cream on the other half. After 12 weeks, the study found that skin quality improved by about 50% in regards to smoothness and wrinkle reduction.)
